Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum)

Hornwort, also known as Coon's Tail, is one of the primary submerged plants used for water clarification and oxygenation in both ponds and aquariums. Often hornwort is described as looking like an underwater pine tree. Use hornwort to improve water quality, provide a place for fish to hide, and give fish a natural food source.

Planting Instructions: For aquariums we recommend weighting the plants to the bottom with either aquarium safe stones or decorations. For ponds we recommend planting in small baskets with pea gravel or a clay based soil. While hornwort can be left free floating or weighted to the bottom of a pond, hornwort will grow better and be more cold tolerant if planted.
